North Belfast - Carál Ní Chuilín

For the last 10 years Carál has been the coordinator of Tar Anall, a political ex-prisoners and family center. Caral was until recently the co-chair of the North Belfast Partnership Board and URBAN II delivering much needed funds to local groups for capacity building and empowerment.

Carál was elected to represent the Oldpark ward in North Belfast in 2005.

Carál is a political ex-prisoner. She graduated from the Open University in 1994 with a BSc Social Studies. She is presently undertaking a Masters Degree in management. In addition to being a life long political activist Carál has a particular interest in human rights, housing, community development, and the Irish language. Carál was born and bred in the New Lodge where she still lives.
