Cyber launch of Sinn Féin's Assembly election website

February 19, 2007

The party has asked users of its Sinn Féin News, Sinn Féin, Bebo, MySpace and YouTube websites to email in questions to Gerry Adams concerning the March 7th Assembly election, the peace process and the role of the internet as a grassroots comunication tool. Hundreds of questions and messages of support came in since yesterday.

Sinn Féin was the first political party in Ireland to have Bebo, YouTube, MySpace and Flickr websites. The party's Bebo site has already had nearly 4,000 visits and the YouTube site has had over 5,000 plays of the party's videos. Sinn Féin see the internet as an essential communications tool and a way to get its message to an even wider audience.
